Medininkai Castle stands firmly on the Medininkai Elevation. It is not only well-preserved, but also one of the biggest in Lithuania. It is well worth coming here to both admire the Castle and take part in the events held here.
On the 31 st of July 1991, a terrible piece of news came from the Eastern border of Lithuania: border patrol officers were shot and killed in cold blood at the Medininkai Customs Post.
