The road that leads from Trakai to the birthplace of the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Old Trakai, has been named after Vytautas Magnus as a tribute to the merits of the great leader.
The Church of Old Trakai is famous for its majestic architecture. It recalls the history of one of the oldest monasteries in Lithuania and that of the outstanding monarchs of our country.
Trakai Peninsula Castle was once one of the biggest and the most important defensive castles. It represented the economic and military strength of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
